This is just a quick announcement to let everyone know I have joined the Elder Services Provider Council (ESPC) in Frederick, MD. The ESPC is a fantastic organization in our community, which I’ll explain.
You see, a while back, a good friend of mine from my time in home health asked me if I had joined the Elder Services Provider Council (ESPC) in Frederick. I told her I had not and she proceeded to educate me on what a wonderful organization this truly is.
The ESPC consists of individuals from the Frederick community, including government agencies, local businesses and corporations. There are monthly meetings which share information and resources on meeting the needs of seniors, their families and caregivers in Frederick County.
The ESPC hosts an annual resource and education fair for seniors and families of Frederick County, called Elder Expo. A free lunch is enjoyed for seniors over the age of 60, as well as health screenings and flu shots.
The ESPC has also begun to award charitable gifts to qualifying non-profit organizations that provide direct and much needed services to seniors in Frederick County.
Needless to say, as an Occupational Therapist focused on making the lives of older adults better, I jumped at the chance and joined immediately.
I am so excited to be a part of such a great organization and am looking forward to work with them as they make a difference in our community!
